Into The Dalek – Doctor Who: Series 8 Episode 2 – The DVDfever Review

Into The Dalek

Hence, Into The Dalek just served as a basic bog-standard filler episode with a lot of running about, except this time shrunk down in size, not that that idea came across well as only a couple of times did we get the “big vs small” sort-of comparison, such as when The Doctor goes “eye-to-eye” with his host.

Still, despite the episode being overhyped, it’s always welcome to see both Michael Smiley (as Journey’s uncle Morgan) and Ben Crompton onscreen, and one of the stunt co-ordinators was Dani Biernat, who I once met about ten years ago. She’s stunning, and a lovely lady. Get her in front of the camera!

Oh, and Missy returns, in an uncredited cameo, giving some continuity to this series’ story arc, showing us that even in Heaven you can get a great cup of tea.

And talking of continuity… announcers, can someone please tell Red Bee Media to SHUT THE HELL UP during the end credits! Well, I do frequently, not that they care. And one problem with them (apart from their brain deficiency) is that, like the trailers, have the audio levels whacked up to 11, so in the official determination we once got from Right to Reply, “it’s not louder, it just sounds louder”(!)

Next week: The Doctor goes Medieval as he meets Robin Hood! From the clip, it looks like a light-hearted, but bad sitcom…
