John Romero (creator of the ground-breaking Wolfenstein 3D, Doom and Quake, right) is attending Revival 2014, hosted by Revival Retro Events, on the 9th August at Dunstall Park, Wolverhampton.
John will take on those who challenge him to Deathmatch Doom and Quake throughout the day and also participate in a Q/A session and sign visitors Doom and Quake memorabilia.
He hasn’t yet attended an event of this ilk in the UK to date, so this could possibly be the only time you meet a recognised gaming legend that invented a genre – the First Person Shooter!
Wolfenstein 3D, Doom and Quake are genre-defining games and left me in complete awe when I played them from the early 90s onwards, and I can’t wait for Revival 2014 to be here!
Last year’s event was given rave reviews on social media and blogging sites, including my own summary here, and an event video, below, was created and as a result shows exactly what visitors can expect to experience at this year’s event.
