My BRUTALLY HONEST REVIEW of LEANNE on NETFLIX!

Leanne Leanne brings audience laughter sitcoms to the fore… But they probably should’ve been left her at the three.

As she hits 60, our titular lead, played by Leanne Morgan, finds husband Bill (Ryan Stiles – yes, I also haven’t seen him in over 30 years since Whose Line Is It Anyway?) has left her for another woman, leading to one of the sitcom’s earliest jokes, and something that only raised a slight titter…

Carol (Kristen Johnston), her sister: “When did you think he might leave you?”
Leanne: “Around the time he bought that nose hair trimmer(!)”

Cue going out for drinks, only finding men who they believe must pep themselves up with blue pills, before Carol tells her, “Stop with the body shaming!”, and comes the reply, “I’m ashamed of my body(!)”

Yes, that’s about the sum total of this… whatever it is. However, what IS worthy of note is that instead of running for a traditional length of episode, each one only lasts around 17 minutes before the end credits begin… and somehow, there’s SIXTEEN of them! Why?!

Who was actually asking for this?

Perhaps Ms Morgan’s 2023 Netflix special went gangbusters, but if it did, there’s nothing to shout about, here. She also starred in You’re Cordially Invited, alongside Celia Weston, who plays her mum in this. That was also mostly dross.

And now I’ve said that, watch as this gets recommissioned for another ten seasons!

Thanks to our friends at Netflix for the screener prior to release.

Leanne is not available to pre-order on Blu-ray or DVD, but is on Netflix from today.
