Little Women 2018: Yes, Louise May Alcott‘s novel is back again on the big screen, and the excuse this time is that it’s 150th anniversary. The last time this graced our screens was in 1994 with Winona Ryder, so that was almost 125 years. It looks utterly puke-inducing.
This is a modern retelling, we’re told, as we follow the lives of four sisters – Meg, Jo, Beth, and Amy March – detailing their passage from childhood to womanhood. Despite harsh times, they cling to optimism, and as they mature, they face blossoming ambitions and relationships, as well as tragedy, while maintaining their unbreakable bond as sisters.
Little Women 2018 is released on September 28th in the US, but as of yet, there’s no UK date. I’m not in a rush.
