My BRUTALLY HONEST REVIEW of MARSHALS: A YELLOWSTONE STORY on PARAMOUNT+!

Marshals Marshals: A Yellowstone Story extends Taylor Sheridan’s Yellowstone franchise, this time with more of a Navy SEAL bent, at first, since that was the long-term career for Kayce Dutton (Luke Grimes… or Grimey, as he likes to be called).

But, that was a time ago, and he’s now living a more sedate life, and from the opening scene, I initially felt that this was a lot more engaging than the usual slow, pondering nature of Yellowstone… but that’s just a flashback nightmare for the chap. Still, i guess if we want more firefighting, we need to wait for Lioness Season 3.

For the opener’s plot, mining will affect the ground owned by the Native Americans, and the former SEALs are having to act like bouncers to stop any ne’er-do-wells. However, since the Marshals are wading into danger, while everyone else runs away… why don’t they have protective headgear on?

The same question comes, later on, when we DO get a bit of Lioness-like action, albeit not a huge amount of it.

Marshals: A Yellowstone Story is a comfortable watch, but there’s far more talking than there is action. I think two episodes should’ve been released on the first day, rather than just one, although there is lots of mumbling from the cast, so subtitles will be required.

Also, it doesn’t bode well that this is released on a Monday. New series and films are generally released on streaming on Thursdays or Fridays. Put them out on a Monday, and it’s like the studio doesn’t trust them, given that they’ll be forgotten about by the time more stuff comes out later in the week.

Still, Ash Santos (Pulse) as Andrea Cruz… in’t she scrummy!

Marshals: A Yellowstone Story is on Paramount+ from today, but is not yet available to pre-order on Blu-ray or DVD, but when it is, it will be listed on the New DVD, Blu-ray, 3D and 4K releases UK page.
