Dominator’s Top 50 of 2001The following is my look back at my Top 50 of 2001.
22. DJ Shadow – Midnight in a Perfect WorldI don’t know where this got to and when, but it’s a fantastic etherealtune that seems to go on forever, but it all the better for it.
Thanks toJose Tavares who commentson this track:
“This tune comes from his album “Entroducing…” from 1996,and got to #54 on the singles chart on week ending 14/09/1996. It was one ofthe best underrated tracks of that year. I remember that I heard it first onEvening Session and then on Pete Tong’s Essential Selection. The followingyear it was included on the soundtrack to the movie Day Tripper. I think oneday it will have the success it deserves, the same way Rob Dougan’s “Clubbedto Death” is now being re-released with new mixes. I first heard that trackin 1995 on The Essential Selection and got to #87 in September that year. But of course, it became huge due toThe Matrix…”
