My BRUTALLY HONEST REVIEW of NIGHT ALWAYS COMES on NETFLIX!

Night Always Comes Night Always Comes takes us on a trip from the evening and into the morning, night with Lynette (Vanessa KirbyPieces Of A Woman), who’s just about struggling to keep her life together.

In order to retain her childhood home, in which she’s always lived – and currently resides there with her Downs Syndrome brother, Kenny (Zack GottsagenThe Peanut Butter Falcon) – upon whom she dotes, and their mother, Doreen (Jennifer Jason LeighPatrick Melrose), the latter needs to co-sign a loan agreement and provide her half of the money, $25,000.

Alas, Doreen is an alcoholic, and Ms Leigh is her usual batshit-mental character who doesn’t care who gets hurt – even her own daughter, and she’s so cold-hearted, you’d have more luck reasoning with the Terminator(!)

But then if it had all worked out, she wouldn’t need to go here and there to raise the money to secure her home. Still what probably cost about the same is the low budget of this movie, and that’s good, because with a great script and great direction, we have a hugely-engaging movie that actually makes you care that after getting screwed over at every turn, can Lynette finally succeed – occasionally going down some very errant paths – and get the money together, and reach the loan office by 9am in the morning?

Oh, and given how anyone coming into my house MUST take their shoes off when they go onto carpet in my house, I did laugh when one tertiary character proclaimed that there’s “421,000 units of bacteria on the sole of a single shoe”!

It’s just a shame that for Night Always Comes, instead of this brilliant, gritty thriller, more people will instead only see the stunning Ms Kirby in the piss-awful Fantastic Four: First Steps. Make that change today, and watch this!

NOTE: There is NO mid- or post-credits scenes.

Night Always Comes is on Netflix now, but isn’t yet available to pre-order on Blu-ray or DVD. However, once announced, it will appear on the New DVD Blu-ray 3D and 4K releases UK list.
