On Chesil Beach is a period drama, adapted by Ian McEwan from his bestselling novel, starring Saoirse Ronan and Billy Howle as a young couple from drastically different backgrounds, having met during the summer of 1962.
The film follows the pair through their idyllic courtship, exploring sex and the societal pressure that can accompany physical intimacy, leading to an awkward and fateful wedding night.
On Chesil Beach is released in the UK on June 15th.
