Our Flag Means Death is a forthcoming comedy on BBC2, starring Rhys Darby.
Synopsis The year is 1717, and in the depths of a midlife crisis, wealthy landowner Stede Bonnet decides to leave his life of luxury behind in search of adventure and become a pirate. Stede tries to tame the mutinous motley crew of his ship, the Revenge, but when his efforts to impress the boisterous buccaneers lead to a raid on a vessel with ties to his former life, Stede is left to question whether he is tough enough for the high seas. Comedy drama based on a true story.

Our Flag Means Death is coming to BBC2 from January 4th, although it’s taken almost a year to get to the UK, so it feels like BBC2 are just using filler at the moment, given that they’re also rerunning the first series of Detectorists.
