Pacific Rim: Uprising – IMAX Trailer – John Boyega

Pacific Rim: Uprising Pacific Rim: Uprising is the sequel to a film I’ve still not yet seen – 2013’s Pacific Rim. Why? Mechrobots fighting other Mechrobots – I find games like that are a big turn-off. Following the teaser, where the only human onscreen was Star Wars Episode VII: The Force AwakensJohn Boyega, there’s now more people. And more robots.

And now we have the IMAX trailer, where the only bit I liked about this was when the parked car was nudged and it set off the alarm, as that was the only element that was rooted in reality.

However, none of Guillermo del Toro‘s vision is present in what’s showing of this movie so far, and this trailer just extends the mish-mash of Transformers-style robot-bashing which we had in the previous teaser and trailer, and they looked as terrible as 2014’s Robocop reboot was compared of the original.

Never mind the Jaeger Uprising, perhaps they should make a film about Jager instead!

Pacific Rim: Uprising was due out originally, on February 23rd, then was pushed back to May 18th, and now has been brought somewhere inbetween, on March 23rd.

Director: Steven S DeKnight (TV series – Smallville, Spartacus, Daredevil)
Also stars: Scott Eastwood, Jing Tian, Adria Arjona, Charlie Day, Burn Gorman
