My BRUTALLY HONEST REVIEW of PEGASUS 3!

Pegasus 3 Pegasus 3 has me at a slight disadvantage, since I’d previously neither heard of, nor seen, Pegasus or Pegasus 2, but since the trailer made it look like a ‘comedy F1’, I didn’t think I’d lose out in that respect, and I was right.

Zhang Chi (Shen Teng) is proud of having built a new factory that’s set out like his old driving school, but even though this is the final year of the Bayanbulak Rally, and since he’s the “King of the Bayanbulak Rally”, having previously won it, for this year’s segment – the Muchen 100 Rally – despite being the one who recruits new team drivers for the China National Rally Team, that’s all for nought, because he’s still going to take the lead!

Hence, that makes the team selection process in the film a complete waste of time, and I’m not sure why it led to this.

Even more odd is when conversations take place between Chinese and English-speaking people, but both in their native languages, yet both instantly understanding each other. WTF?!

And given that this was released at the time of the Chinese New Year, it’s stated that Zhang Chi’s name has a horse in it… even though 2026 is the Year of the Fire Horse, and not just the horse.

On the plus side, the race takes up a good 35 minutes of the third act, and is the best part of the film, but there’s a lot of chaff beforehand, before we get to the wheat.

Another interesting plus is that for this film, like the recent H Is For Hawk, I effectively had a private screening, because there was no-one else in the room! 🙂

However, while it’s far from a great film, it’s currently the highest-grossing of the year, having taken $597m at the time of writing this. Wuthering Heights can only manage $214m to date. However, this will change after the new Super Mario film comes out.

There are no mid- or post-credit scenes.

Pegasus 3 is in cinemas now, but isn’t yet available to pre-order on Blu-ray or DVD. However, once announced, it will appear on the New DVD Blu-ray 3D and 4K releases UK list.
