The quintessential street movie was originally released in 1982 and captures the hip hop scene at its birthin the South Bronx. It represents a slice of life from one of the most exciting periods in American culture,with the emergence of new wave music, new painting, hip hop and graffiti, a scene that saw a new generation oftalent such as Jean-Michel Basquiat, Madonna and Blondie.

To celebrate the 25th Anniversary of Wild Style, there will be three simultaneous releases – the film itself; aspecial edition double CD of the cult classic soundtrack and a brand new book by the director himself, CharlieAhearn.

This seminal film charts the growth of hip-hop, taking in the nascent rap, breakdancing and graffiti scenes.Its stars are pioneers – DJs and rappers such as Grand Master Flash, Grand Wizard Theodore, D.St, Grand MasterCaz and The Cold Crush Bros, The Chief Rocker Busy Bee, Double Trouble, Fantastic Freaks and Rammellzee,breakdancers The Rock Steady Crew and graffiti masters Dondi, Zephyr and Daze.

Main man Fab Five Freddy assisted writer and director Charlie Ahearn in the creation of Wild Style, as wellas doing his thing in front of the camera as smooth Hip Hop impresario Phade.

The film follows Graffiti artist Zorro, played by legendary subway artist Lee Quinones and his crew, throughthe mean streets of New York from the train yards to the nightclubs and even art galleries, climaxing in themost famous hip hop party in history.

Wild Style is the original hip hop movie, it takes you back to the true roots of a scene that changed everythingfrom the music, to the clothes, the graffiti and the way of life!
