Insidious 6: Out Of The Further opens in Pittsburg, 1999, where Gemma comes home from school, her mum goes mad and offs herself in the bathroom…
20 years on, and Gemma (Amelia Eve – The Haunting of Bly Manor) is now a dentist, living in the same house with her daughter, Maya (Island Austin)… Quite frankly, you’d think that after something like that happens in the house, you’d MOVE!
While out and about, she frequently sees three weird old people who keep walking around outside, and later, one of them, Lester, is in her dentist’s chair with the grimmest of mouths, and like Charlie, he bites her finger, knocking her back onto the floor, she goes unconscious and ends up back in the Further… like you do.
From there, she meets Elise (Lin Shaye), who’s brown bread, but death is not the career setback it used to be, and she tells Gemma to look for her in reality.. who turns out to be tattoo artist Clare. Oh, it’s so obvious!
Throw in astral projection, the ability for Gemma to bring items back from the Further into reality, a creepy character called Cyrus Lam (Sam Spruell – The Dog Stars) – who makes people follow him through the red door of the last film, and he can’t escape, but Gemma might be able to if she can just wake up…
Quite frankly, I lost track of what was going on with this utter bollocks, and with people contacting others while you’re out for the count just makes this feel like a Freddy Kruger film.
