On 27th April 2009, Network is releasing this intriguing war time drama: MANHUNT – THE COMPLETE SERIES (Cert. TBC). It is available to buy on DVD as an 8 – disc set, RRP £59.99. This release includes all 26 episodes of MANHUNT complete and uncut.

MANHUNT is a tense, taut drama tells the story of Downed RAF Squadron leader Jimmy Porter, along with Resistance agents “Nina” and “Vincent” in wartime France as they attempt to sabotage the activities of the occupying Germans and carry out their rescue mission – to smuggle stranded airmen to safety from under the nose of the enemy. Being surrounded by people whose true identities and intentions are at best dubious, Jimmy Porter and “Vincent” live in constant fear of capture and death. A perilous situation that worsens when they embark on a vital mission: to enable “Nina” – along with the valuable information she possesses – to reach England in safety…

This 1970 series not only tells a rich, multi-layered drama, it also vividly captures the omnipresent fear and complex personal dilemmas experienced by those caught up in the tragedy of wartime occupation. MANHUNT has an addictive, fast-paced plotline and sensational performance from a stellar cast that includes Robert Hardy (All Creatures Great and Small), Philip Madoc (A Mind to Kill) and Peter Barkworth (The Power Game), all of these elements ensure that this series is compelling viewing.
