Bernard Manning, Mike Reid and Jim Bowen star in the stand-up DVD, THE COMEDIANS THE VERY BEST OF SERIES THREE (E). Released by Network Distributing, this long-awaited third volume is out on 27th April 2009, RRP £12.99.
THE COMEDIANS, running from 1971 to 1993, is one of the greatest rating successes for ITV ever. In the gritty, unsympathetic, hard-to-please environment of Northern working mens clubs, the comedians honed their routines and jokes to perfection.
Many of the shows stars went on to become household names including Frank Carson, Charlie Williams, Ken Goodwin and George Roper. All becoming masters of a particular brand of humour and the knowing wink.
The show also gained a BAFTA nomination for Best Light Entertainment Programme. This set contains all the best moments from series three, first shown in 1972.
SPECIAL FEATURE: The Comedians Christmas Party a complete show originally broadcast on Christmas Eve 1971.
The DVD is out on April 27th, it runs for 200 minutes and retails for £12.99 on DVD,but is currently on Amazon at the link above for £9.49.
