Network releases Gainsborough comedy STORMY WEATHER (U) on DVD on 27th April 2009.
This is a riotous 1936 comedy classic both starring and directed by the multi-talented Tom Walls.
STORMY WEATHER is part of the whole series of the renowned Aldwych Farces penned by Ben Travers (A Cuckoo in the Nest, Rookery Nook). It tells the story of much excitement and intrigue. Polotski, a sinister Russian who, years ago, had been married to a French woman, Louise. Convinced that Polotski is dead, Louise remarries and is now the wife of Sir Duncan Cragg, a prominent social figure. Polotski sees the situation as an unmissible opportunity for blackmail, and thus manipulates the opportunity to his own advantage. He kidnaps Louise in her husbands absence; upon realising this, Sir Duncan sets off to find her unbeknownst to him, he has severely underestimated the brutal nature of Louises first husband
One of the most influential figures in British comedy, Tom Walls, directs a cast of Aldwych regulars in this high energy, farcical and exciting film. It is packed with physical comedy and drama and is sure to entertain.
The DVD is out on April 27th, it runs for 78 minutes and retails for £15.99 on DVD,but is currently on Amazon at the link above for £6.57.
