THE COST OF GETTING SKY+ JUST GOT BETTER

BSkyB today have announced a new pricing deal for Sky+ to take effect from 1October 2003 – coinciding with the fifth birthday of Sky digital. The new dealmeans the Sky+ subscription will be free for those customers also subscribingto more than one of Sky’s premium sports or movie channels**. The standardSky+ subscription price will remain at £10 per month for all other customers.Sky+ enables viewers to choose and record the programmes they want, and towatch them at a time that suits them, effectively creating their own TVchannel.

Sky+, the integrated digital video recorder and satellite receiver and service,was launched two years ago, and has been upgraded several times by softwaredownloads via the satellite since then. Over 105,000 UK homes already enjoythe benefits of blissfully simple TV recording: every episode of popularseries can be recorded at the touch of a button, live TV can be paused andrewound and soon viewers will be able to record two programmes at the sametime while watching something they have recorded previously.

The price of the Sky+ box will remain at the recently announced reduced priceof £199. The cost of a standard installation for the Sky+ box will be£50.

In addition, Sky’s Extra Subscription, enabling customers to get independentviewing of their Sky channels in another room by others in the household, willnow be just £10 per month when taken in combination with Sky+ . Thestandard Extra Subscription price will remain at £15 per month for allother customers.

Both the Sky+ subscription and Extra Subscription price improvements will beautomatically applied to both existing and new customers from 1 October 2003.
