RPG-at-Sea to Coincide With Movie Release This Summer

Bethesda Softworks®, Disney Interactive, and Ubi Soft®Entertainment have announced that Ubi Soft Entertainment will publishPirates of the Caribbean for the Xbox(tm) video game system from Microsoftand PC CD-ROM throughout Europe. Inspired by one of this summer’s mostanticipated blockbusters, the game will bring swashbuckling adventures andrich worlds to Xbox and PC this August. Pirates of the Caribbean is beingdeveloped by Akella and Bethesda Softworks.

Featuring stunning graphics, deep role-playing elements, and thrillingquests, the Pirates of the Caribbean game offers players the uniqueopportunity to prove their mettle against the legendary buccaneers of theCaribbean.

“The Pirates of the Caribbean game transports players to the 17th Centurywhere they can experience life as a pirate in any way they see fit,” saidvideo game executive producer Todd Vaughn. “Whether they want to be fearedby all and welcome nowhere, or just enjoy compelling missions or a life atsea, we are creating a game that fits their gameplay style.”

The Pirates of the Caribbean video game is a unique role-playing experiencewith an intriguing storyline and the ability to explore everything the worldhas to offer. Deciding to become a cold-hearted mercenary for hire, apeaceful and profitable merchant or a swashbuckling pirate will influencefuture interactions. Gaining wealth and experience gives players theopportunity to hire crewmembers, sail larger ships, and uncover pricelesstreasures.

Players will enjoy advanced AI, incredibly detailed characters and vessels,breath taking views at sea, and lush, exotic locales. Enhancing the game’srealism, wind and water conditions will affect how ships sail and fight. Dayand night lighting and beautiful water effects make the game come alive.
