Planet Of The Apes is ageless! Filmed in 1974 following the success of thefour original films, the TV series takes place after the events of the firstfilm. Starring an eclectic cast including Roddy McDowell from the originalfilms (most recently Mr Soil, A Bugs Life) as Chimpanzee Galen, the unexpectedhero.
The series is set on futuristic Earth where Apes are now the superior species.Two astronauts from Earth’s past, Virdon (Ron Harper) and Burke (JamesNaughton) arrive in the Earth’s future as the inferior race and befriend Galen.Together they live as fugitives from the tyrannical Ape authorities.
As well as unforgettable story lines, the series is known for its advancedmake-up and special effects for its time. The series also sets each mysticalscene with fantastical orchestral music.
