Pup Star is, without a doubt, a must-see film that’ll beat Citizen Kane, The Godfather and The Shawshank Redemption to the top of any ‘Best Film Ever’ chart.
It tells the timeless tale of a Yorkshire Terrier, who’s taking part in the equivalent of Pop Stars (well, that’s what it used to be called, but is now known as X-Factor), and this one is renamed… wait for it… oh, you saw it in the title. Anyhoo, the doddy gets separated from her owner by an opportunist dog pound worker.
I laughed and laughed and laughed more than any other comedy film I have ever seen. PS. I also lie a lot.
Still, anything is better than the Ghostbusters and Dad’s Army remakes.
Directed by Robert Vince, from a script by more than one person (yes, Mr Vince wrote it with Kirsten Hansen and Anna McRoberts), the film stars Kaitlyn Maher, Jed Rees, David DeLuise, John Ratzenberger, plus Nikki Blonsky as Lady Paw Paw, and Steve Valentine as Cowell soundalike Simon Growl.
Pup Star doesn’t yet have a UK release date, but I am off to camp outside my local Odeon tonight, and forever more, until it is released. My boss won’t be pleased.
