CHROMOPHOBIA

Penelope Cruz (right) will star in the psychological drama Chromophobia, set incontemporary London. The $10 million film is written and directed by MarthaFiennes.

‘Variety’ reported that Chromophobia started shooting a few weeks ago on theIsle of Man, and will move to locations around London soon.

The movie probes the dilemmas of modern London life, where the old-fashionedvirtues of honesty and loyalty are replaced by the new morality of successand celebrity; the story of a bourgeois family slowly coming apart at theseams.

Other cast members include the director’s famous brother Ralph Fiennes(Schindler’s List), Kristin Scott Thomas (The English Patient), Rhys Ifans(Notting Hill), Ian Holm (Lord Of The Rings), Ben Chaplin (The Thin RedLine), Damian Lewis (TV’s Band Of Brothers) and Harriet Walters.

COSMONAUTMarried screenwriters Robert and Michelle King will adapt sci-fi thrillerCosmonaut for ‘Warner Brothers’, reports ‘Variety’.

The movie is based on the best-selling Australian novel by Peter McAllister,about the first murder in space aboard the International Space Station.

CURSEDThe poster for Cursed, a werewolf teen horror directed by Wes Craven andwritten by Kevin Williamson (Scream), has been revealed (see right). Hmmm,looks suspiciously like a negative of the Scream poster with a claw slash inthe corner. Now, I wonder what fan-base they’re hoping to snare…

The movie is released in the U.S on 25 February 2005 and stars ChristinaRicci (Sleepy Hollow) and James Brolin. The movie concerns an estrangedbrother and sister, both dealing with the death of their parents, whoselives are irrevocably altered one night by a vicious animal attack.

HALF LIGHTDemi Moore’s next project is romantic thriller Half Light, directed by CraigRosenberg. The film is being shot in England, Ireland and Wales.

Half Light, based on Rosenberg’s original screenplay, is described as aHitchcockian thriller with a supernatural twist. Moore plays Rachel Carlson,a successful mystery novelist whose life falls apart when her 5-year-old sondrowns at her country home.

A year later, in an effort to heal her wounds and help her to start writingagain, her best friend rents her a secluded cottage in a remote fishingvillage. But events unfold that rock the tranquil village and cause Rachelto fear for her sanity… and her life.

ULTRAVIOLET

Milla Jovovich (Resident Evil Apocalypse, right) spoke to ‘Sci Fi Wire’ about hernext project – the sci-fi action movie Ultraviolet, which she has justfinished shooting last month with writer-director Kurt Wimmer (Equilibrium).

Jovovich: “It’s super cool. It’s very different from Resident Evil, but it’sa sci-fi movie, and there is a virus in it. But those are the onlysimilarities.”

“My character… [has] this sickness. It’s an epidemic that’s spread in theworld where all sicknesses have been cured… except for this one epidemicthat the government has created and in a way [is] using for their ownbenefit. But it gets out, and they’re trying to annihilate everybody thathas it. Now the people that have it realize what’s going on and gounderground.”

TOY STORY 3’Moviehole’ visited Disneyland and talked to the team behind the BuzzLightyear Of Star Command animated series, and they revealed that a thirdToy Story movie is in the works!

However, it appears that ‘Pixar’ may not be involved, because theirproduction deal with ‘Disney’ has now expired. ‘Disney’ still owns therights to the Toy Story franchise, so they are allowed to hire a differentanimation studio to create the movie…
