CoverMOVIE NEWS V FOR VENDETTASome excellent one-sheet posters for V For Vendetta have been released (seeright). This movie is based on a truly excellent Alan Moore graphic novel -a huge favourite of mine – and so far looks to be a great Moore adaptation;unlike From Hell, League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen and Constantine. BLADES OF GLORYWill Ferrell (Anchorman) and Jon Heder (Napoleon Dynamite) are teaming upfor Blades Of Glory, as two warring ice skaters who are banned from theWinter Olympics after a punch-up, but who combine forces to re-enter theOlympics in the pairs figure skating category. Ben Stiller will produce. JUMPERDoug Liman (Mr & Mrs Smith) is set to direct Jumper, an adaptation of theSteven Gold novel about a teenager who discovers he can teleport from oneplace to another. The movie will be part of a trilogy, written by Jim Uhls(Fight Club) from a draft by David Goyer (Batman Begins). THE MUTANT CHRONICLESThomas Jane (The Punisher) will star in the sci-fi/action epic The MutantChronicles, based on the role-playing board game of the same name.

The story is set in the 23rd century, in which four giant corporations havepillaged the last of the planet’s resources, causing a demonic, maraudingarmy of underworld NecroMutants to wage war against humans for what remains.Jane will play a battle-weary Marine who leads a squad of soldiers againstthe alien hordes.

Simon Hunter will direct the film from a screenplay he wrote with RossJameson.

The movie is scheduled to start filming early-2006 with casting currentlyunder way.
