Julia Roberts and Catherine Zeta-Jones will not return, but director StephenSoderbergh is again in the hot seat. Ocean’s Thirteen will debut in cinemasin the summer of 2007 release.
REMO: THE DESTROYERA guilty pleasure of mine back in the ’80s was Remo Williams: The AdventureBegins, starring Fred Ward as Remo – a policeman who is killed in actionactually revived to become part of a group known as Cure. Remo was thentaught martial arts and how to dodge bullets by Chuin. Oh, it also starredKate Mulgrew (Star Trek Voyager’s Janeway!) Never heard of it?
Well, it looks like a very belated sequel is in the pipeline called Remo TheDestroyer. The Remo character actually derives from a novel by Warren Murphyand Richard Sapir that was full of satire and hard-edge thrills. The firstmovie was somewhat watered-down by the studio, but here’s hoping the sequelrealls nails what the book set out to achieve…

The God of water.
You know your mythology.
I’m guessing this is a seafaring movie?
It’s a remake of the 1972 classic disaster movie The Poseidon Adventure.
Hmm, cool. Who’s in it?
Josh Lucas, Kurt Russell, Richard Dreyfuss, er, Stacy Ferguson.
Whoooo?
The bird from Black Eyed Peas.
Ah. Hmm. Okay. Good effects, yeah?Of course. A massive CGI tsunami capsized an ocean liner and the passengershave to–
Blah, blah, blah!
Oh, c’mon, these disaster movies are just what the summer’s all about.
Okay… just kidding. But these things are quite formulaic.
The trailer has plenty of spirit and snippers of “tough choices” for ourheroes to make. Should be fun.
