HIS DARK MATERIALSDirector Anand Tucker has stepped down from the project, to be replaced byChris Weitz (the director he originally replaced!) Weitz stepped asidebecause he didn’t think he could handle the extensive visuals required tobring Philip Pullman’s novels to life, but maybe he had a change of heart?
RESIDENT EVIL – EXTINCTIONThe official website for singer-actress Ashanti (right) has revealed that she willappear in the final installment of the Resident Evil movies, entitledExtinction. Milla Jovovich, Oded Fehr, Sienna Guillory, Mike Epps and IainGlen are also set to star in the third movie based on the popular video-gamefranchise.
Director Russell Mulcahy (Highlander) is at the helm, working from a scriptby Paul W.S Anderson (Alien Vs Predator).
THE MUTANT CHRONICLESDirector Simon Hunter already has Thomas Jane starring in this movue about amilitary leader in a fight against NecroMutants who are threatening Earth.John Malkovich is attached to star, and now Stephen Rea (V For Vendetta) hasjoined the cast as Richard Crenna (Jane’s former commander). Ron Perlman(Hellboy) has also joined the movie as a religious leader who recruits Janeto stop the mutants). TRANSFORMERSDirector Michael Bay is beginning to cast the voices in his upcomingTransformers movie, adapted from the ’80s cartoon series and toys. JonVoight, Megan Fox, Josh Duhamel and Bernie Mac are now signed to lend theirvoices to the transforming robots.
