Switch is a forthcoming puzzle/platform game from Threye Interactive which sees you, as the letter ‘i’, trying to escape each level and reunite with your other 25 alphabet friends across 70 levels.
Involving a lot of jumping about with two types of jump buttons which perform different tasks, this is a game which starts off easy, but soon ends up devilishly difficult and some of these levels are bordering on insane, but which still have that perfect “just one more go” feature. It’s difficult to describe in words, but there’s some example gameplay below which I recorded and you’ll get the measure of this simple-to-grasp title which is difficult to master, since there’s a clock counting how long you take, yet claiming I’m meant to beat some levels in about 15 seconds when they’re rock hard is way too much of a task!
Personally, I would’ve named this game something different since, with its release on March 7th, and the Nintendo Switch being released on March 3rd, this indie title is going to get lost in the searches, which is a shame as it’s great fun.
The search issue reminds me of a British rock band back which formed in 1993 and were simply called… A. Yes, just ‘A‘. For me, they came to the fore in 2002 with the single “Nothing“. Try searching for “A Nothing” online. This is why the band MOTHXR were so-called, and didn’t name themselves “Mother”, even though that’s how it’s pronounced.
Note that not all levels were available in the preview version I played, but I got a great flavour of what’s in there.
Switch is released on March 7th on PC/Steam and Xbox One, and click on the top image for the full-size version.
