The Equalizer, starring Denzel Washington, and A Walk Among The Tombstones, starring Liam Neeson, are both released later this month but if you pay a lot of money to go and see them at the cinema, you may not be aware that they’re censored!
And this is something that happens a lot, as best described by Mark Kermode when last year, 20th Century Fox decided to censor A Good Day To Die Hard down to a 12A when they could’ve released an uncut 15-cert at the cinema, which was later released on Blu-ray in that format.
However, in these cases, it’s mostly down to reducing violence to get the cinema certificate from an 18-cert to a 15-cert. I’ll put what the BBFC have stated as the reasons for the cuts, but will hide them behind spoiler tags so you can’t read them accidentally.
