The Ex-Wife Part 2, and… ooh eck, for some reason, I didn’t get round to watching the first four-parter.
Oh well, I’m sure I’ll catch up, especially the way a lot of these dramas go, such as the nonsense that’ll be The Feud, on Monday, on Channel 5.
Ah, we do get a “Last time…”, in which Jack inadvertently ran Tasha over, they got together in his big, posh house, she fell pregnant, but his ex-wife, Jen, was always hanging around… Punch-ups ensued, along with fast-driving, and before you can say “Grand Theft Auto“, Tasha’s headed off to Cyprus with daughter Emily, while Jack’s in hospital after causing a car crash!
Plus, now, Jen’s changed from Janet Montgomery to Katie McGrath…
Well, Cyprus may be a stunning place to live, but Tasha’s (Celine Buckens – The Castaways) apartment’s still a pigsty, and she’s struggling to hold down a cleaning job, especially while bringing along her daughter.
Meanwhile, Jack’s (Tom Mison) screwing up Jen’s life by sending her flowers.
Add in some twists and turns that really don’t make sense – and I’m not referring to Tasha’s driving – and in the opener, the biggest mystery is… how come the arcade machines in the cafe keep spouting out the ‘death knell’ sound from Atari 2600’s version of PAC-MAN?
Avoiding spoilers, it’s safe to say that The Ex-Wife Part 2 is like a trashy airport novel, but in TV form. It exhibits all the usual clichés these dramas normally do, and feels like it was written by AI.
