My BRUTALLY HONEST REVIEW of THE TERMINAL LIST: DARK WOLF on PRIME VIDEO!

The Terminal List: Dark Wolf

The Terminal List: Dark Wolf is a spin-off series from 2022’s The Terminal List, with Chris Pratt in the lead role as US Navy SEAL Lt. Commander James Reece, backed up by Taylor Kitsch (Painkiller) as former Navy SEAL and CIA Ground Branch operative Ben Edwards, first opening with a funeral for those lost in action.

Moving on to 2015, in Mosul, Iraq, and following a prison exchange comes a great firefight, feeling very much like one of those SOCOM videogames, and in the mid-to-late 2000s, I adored the ones that came out on the Sony PSP, so I’ve found myself enjoying this more than the first series, and so maybe I’ll go back and give that another try.

Amongst the character, one of the team, Daran (Fady Demian), has suffered some injuries, but is insistent on returning to the frontline, while in the battle with ISIS, Massoud Danawi (Farshad Farahat) is the main baddie, kicking up a stinking, blowing people up all over the shop, and needs to be stopped.

Ideally, the team are supposed to be training Iraqis to stand up for themselves, but it’s never going to be that straight-forward, and with some incredibly uncompromising scenes on the battlefield, it’s often said that “War is hell”, but oh, how it’s laid bare right here, to the point where it’s excruciating to see some of what goes on; and given that the original novel is written by former Navy SEAL Jack Carr, you know he’ll be recounting some of the horror he witnessed.

For Richards, however, before you can say “dishonourable discharge”, he and one other member of the team find themselves out of favour with some of their actions, they’re out of the team and heading off to deal with Danawi in an operation that’s strictly off-the-books, hence the ‘Dark Wolf’ part of the title, and why it’s not “The Terminal List 2”.

For as much as I’m enjoying The Terminal List: Dark Wolf, the only downside I’ve found is that occasionally, the dialogue is a bit muffled, so it’s a shame the preview didn’t have subtitles. However, as the episodes are made available for streaming, subtitles will be included, so I’d definitely put these on for a rewatch.

Thanks to our friends at Prime Video for the screener prior to release.

The Terminal List: Dark Wolf is on Prime Video now.

It’s not yet available to pre-order on Blu-ray or DVD, but if it is in future, it will be listed on the New DVD, Blu-ray, 3D and 4K releases UK page.
