The Yellow Birds is a title that keeps making me think of the hot coffee drink “Mellow Birds”, and I’ll never get over that, but anyhoo… it centres around two young solders, Brandon Bartle (Alden Ehrenreich – Solo: A Star Wars Story) and Murph (Tye Sheridan – Ready Player One), who navigate the terrors of the Iraq war under the command of the older, troubled Sergeant Sterling (Jack Huston).
All the while, Bartle is tortured by a promise he made to Murph’s mother (Jennifer Aniston) before their deployment.
The Yellow Birds hasn’t yet got a UK or US release date, but it looks like it could be pretty good.
