To The Bone is a forthcoming Netflix drama starring Lily Collins (right) (Rules Don’t Apply) as Ellen, an unruly, 20-year-old anorexic girl who spent the better part of her teenage years being shepherded through various recovery programs, only to find herself several pounds lighter every time. Determined to find a solution, her dysfunctional family agrees to send her to a group home for youths, which is led by a non-traditional doctor. Surprised by the unusual rules—and charmed by her fellow patients—Ellen has to discover for herself how to confront her addiction and attempt self-acceptance, in order to stand a chance against her demons.
She meets an unconventional doctor, Dr. William Beckham (Keanu Reeves), who challenges her to face her condition and embrace life.
Written and directed by Marti Noxon, the film also stars Carrie Preston, Alanna Ubach, Liana Liberato, Kathryn Prescott, Lili Taylor, and Brooke Smith, and I found this a very charming tale based on the trailer.
To The Bone is released by Netflix on July 14th in the UK and US and I’m really looking forward to this.
