Viral looks like rather a decent thriller about the outbreak of a virus which wipes out the majority of the human population, the film focusing on a young woman, Emma (Sofia Black-D’Elia) who documents her family’s new life in quarantine, and her attempts to protect her infected sister, Stacey (Analeigh Tipton).
Directed by Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman (both for Nerve and Catfish), from a script by Christopher Landon and Barbara Marshall, the film also stars Michael Kelly and Travis Tope (Independence Day: Resurgence) as Emma’s neighbour (and her secret crush), Evan, and looks like a cracking movie.
Viral is released in the US on July 29th, but as of yet there’s no UK date.
