Watch Dogs 2 brings the ctOS (the Central Operating System) surveillance system to San Francisco, spread across six different areas.
As before with Watch Dogs, it connects everyone with everything, Again, you’re playing this action/adventure/stealth game in a third-person perspective, by foot (including parkour) or in a car, bike et al, but this time you control hacker Marcus Holloway, working with hacking group DedSec to take down the city’s advanced surveillance system, ctOS 2.0.
This is because, as a child, he was framed for a crime he did not commit, by ctOS 2.0, and with The A-Team not around to help him, he’s a bit unhappy. To defeat the baddies, you can be stealthy and use a Taser, or just shoot your way out with guns or your melee weapon, which is a billiard ball attached to a bungee cord!
There’s also multiplayer in the form of a co-op mode, where players can meet and interact with other random players, in a bid to complete missions together. It also features several competitive modes, including the asymmetric hack invasion mode. Add to this, an emote system, allowing players’ characters to communicate with each other through basic gestures, and the game can also be played completely online or offline.
Watch Dogs 2 is released on Tuesday on PC, and is out now for both PS4 and Xbox One.
