Wet Look is the first episode of On The Edge Series 4.
Gwynn (Tanya Reynolds – Harold And The Purple Crayon) is a former mermaid who is getting an urge to head back into the water, rather like Daryl Hannah in Splash. Just one problem, though… she can’t grow her tail back, and is stuck with legs and feet.
EVeryone treats this fact as.. well, matter of fact.
She’s told she “doesn’t look like a mermaid“, heads to a wedding where the meal is all seafood and is asked, “Hope there’s none of your friends in there(!)”
This all leads to arguments with her other half, Rob (Iwan Rheon – Men Up), who she feels doesn’t take her seriously, even though he should know all about life changes, as his mother passed away and his Dad is now getting remarried at the aforementioned wedding.
Will Gwynn do the full ‘Madison’ and return to the sea? Either way, this is very much take-it-or-leave-it, and if you don’t take it, you’ve missed nothing. Pretty disappointing.
Wet Look is part of On The Edge Series 4. The series is not yet available to pre-order on Blu-ray or DVD.
After broadcast, the series will be on All 4.
Oddly, like with Series 3, there’s no trailer online, so I’ve given the Series 2 trailer below. Plus, Channel 4 haven’t even given any sort of a heads-up for Series 4 at all! The amount of junk they plug on ads for All4 over and over, but not this!
