Every Thing Will Be Fine stars James Franco as Tomas, a writer who, while driving aimlessly after a quarrel with his girlfriend, accidentally runs over and kills a child. The accident and its aftermath deeply traumatizes him. Over the next 12 years, he struggles to make sense of what happened and continue on with life, but when he looks in the mirror, he sees a murderer.
There’s a reasonable cast here, including Rachel McAdams, Peter Stormare, although Charlotte Gainsbourg is in it as well and I really don’t rate her, despite her popping up in everything Lars Von Trier seems to put out such as the otherwise superb Melancholia plus the bizarre Nymphomaniac. Wim Wenders directs, so perhaps that’s why it’s so long and ponderous, even for a two-and-a-half-minute trailer.
Will everything be fine? Will you care?
Every Thing Will Be Fine came out in Germany earlier this year, but as of yet there’s no US or UK release date.
