Today, Lynda La Plante (right) announced, today, on This Morning that Prime Suspect‘s DS Jane Tennison is to return, but not with Helen Mirren. She’s going back to her uniform days and the author is looking for an actress to play her on television.
Prime Suspect ran for 15 episodes over 7 series from 7 April 1991 to 22 October 2006.
I loved Prime Suspect back in the day, but finding an actress with the gravitas of Helen Mirren will be a tough process.
