A Kind of Murder takes place in 1960s New York, where Walter Stackhouse (Patrick Wilson) is a successful architect married to the beautiful Clara who leads a seemingly perfect life. But his fascination with an unsolved murder leads him into a spiral of chaos as he is forced to play cat-and-mouse with a clever killer and an overambitious detective, while at the same time lusting after another woman.
This psychological noir thriller is based on Patricia Highsmith‘s novel, ‘The Blunderer‘, with a screenplay from Susan Boyd, and directed by Andy Goddard. It also stars Haley Bennett, Jessica Biel and Eddie Marsan.
A Kind of Murder looks okay, but nothing more, and it’s released in the US on December 16th, but as of yet, there’s no UK date. In the US at least, it’s clashing with Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, so that doesn’t inspire confidence in this movie.
