Approaching the Unknown stars Mark Strong as Captain William Stanaforth, a man sacrificing everything on Earth for face a one-way solo mission to take the first steps in colonising Mars. Like all pioneers throughout history, Stanaforth will face insurmountable odds and life and death decisions as he rockets bravely through space (it says here).
Given that it’s all set in space, it won’t take long before monotony sets in to his trip and then events are livened up – sort-of – when things start to go wrong… However, it does look like a visual treat, so could it be this year’s Gravity? or even 2001: A Space Odyssey?
Written and directed by Mark Elijah Rosenberg, the cast also includes Sanaa Lathan, Charles Baker, Anders Danielsen Lie and Bettina Skye.
Approaching the Unknown is released in the US on June 3rd, but as of yet there’s no UK date.
