Before The Flood is the fourth episode in the new series of Doctor Who Series 9, and concludes the two parter where the Doctor (Peter Capaldi) and Clara (Jenna Coleman) ended up in an underwater nuclear reactor with ghosts, but now the story goes back to how all this came about, and The Doctor… has to die!
Hmm… seems a bit morose, but then it’s better than Russell T Davies writing an episode of slapstick!
As well as the trailer, below you can check out an introduction to the episode, Steven Moffat’s teaser for the episode, plus a clip – The pilot’s hearse.
Before The Flood is written by Toby Whithouse (A Town Called Mercy, Under The Lake, and a contributor to The Magician’s Apprentice) and directed by Daniel O’Hara (episodes 4-6 of The Game). The cast includes Morven Christie (Hunted), Paul Kaye (everything from Dennis Pennis to The Interceptor), plus Arsher Ali, Neil Fingleton, Zaqi Ismail, Sophie Leigh Stone, Colin McFarlane, Steven Robertson and Corey Taylor.
Before The Flood is broadcast tonight on BBC1 at 8.25pm. I’m hoping that next week it returns to a time around 7pm, but Strictly Come Dancing seems to be pushing it later and later.
