Blood Father – Official Trailer #1 – Mel Gibson

Blood Father Blood Father stars Mel Gibson (now only making sporadica film appearances) as John Link, an ex-con who reunites with his estranged wayward 16-year old daughter, Ursula (Elisabeth Röhm), doing his best to protect her from drug dealers who are trying to kill her.

Directed by Jean-François Richet (Mesrine Part 1: Killer Instinct, Mesrine Part 2: Public Enemy Number 1, and 2005’s Assault on Precinct 13 remake), from a script by Andrea Berloff and Peter Craig, and based on the latter’s novel, the film also stars William H Macy, Diego Luna and Erin Moriarty.

Blood Father looks like a cracking action/drama and reminds me of Gibson’s 2012 movie, How I Spent My Summer Vacation, which shows he can really pull it out of the bag when he’s trying, and is still worth the entrance fee at those times, despite his rather dodgy views and behaviours.

The film is released in the UK on October 7th.
