Digging For Fire is a new film where the trailer makes it look like it can’t decide whether it’s a comedy or a drama and then fails at both, but the billing states it’s aobut the discovery of a bone and a gun which send a husband and wife on separate adventures over the course of a weekend.
The trailer is also more obsessed with the star count, namely: Orlando Bloom, Rosemarie DeWitt, Jake Johnson, Anna Kendrick, Sam Elliott, Brie Larson, Mike Birbiglia, Jane Adams, Steve Berg, Judith Light, Ron Livingston, Melanie Lynskey, Chris Messina, David Siskind, Jenny Slate and Sam Rockwell, and it’s directed by Joe Swanberg who co-wrote it with Jake Johnson.
There’s no UK release date for Digging For Fire yet, but if you’re in the US then it’s out on August 21st. UK readers, don’t hold your breath… In fact, I really can’t see a reason for this film to exist at all. It looks tedious and terrible.
