DOOM!, aka Doom 4, is due out for release in Spring 2016, as I mentioned before, but now, PlayStation.Blog have put online an interview with Marty Stratton, executive producer at id Software about the game at PlayStation’s E3 2015 Live Coverage show.
The trailer makes it look great fun, and this interview features incredible gameplay footage which makes it look like DOOM might finally be brought into the modern age!
Developed by Id Software and to be released by Bethesda Softworks (who need to make more review copies of games available as they’ve been in short supply of late), the game takes place on Mars, where the UAC Corporation have been discovering artificial symbols that marked Mars and brought an army of demons from Hell. D’oh!
There’s a single-player mode, plus many multiplayer modes which include traditional 4-player deathmatch, domination, freeze tag, and clan arena. It’ll also include an in-built tool titled “Doom SnapMap” which allows players to construct custom maps, and share it with the online community.
Classic weapons such as the super shotgun and BFG-9000 make a return, along with enemies from the original games such as the Revenant and Cyberdemon.
Check out the trailer below and the game is due for release in Spring 2016. And that date won’t slip back at all. After all, it’s only been in production since May 2008!
