Elizabeth concluded the first episode of the new series of Britain’s Got Talent by declaring her name was Elizabeth. Just Elizabeth. But it’s probably Bert Higgins from Scunthorpe.
What followed over the next few minutes was a dumb “pick a card” trick, after this seemingly mad woman selected Amanda Holden from the judges and led her down under the stage for what the video describes as “terrifying”, but the only terrifying thing about it, is that it is five minutes of your life which you won’t get back. Then again, you could rewatch Avengers: Infinity War and you’d have plenty of those ‘five minutes’ to never get back.
The whole thing was staged and over-rehearsed from all concerned, from Grandad Simon to Drunk & Dec. David Walliams and Alesha Dixon tried their worst to make it look like they have no idea what was going on (yet, looked more like they wished they were a million miles away) and all of Amanda Holden’s botox has left her with the acting ability of a cast member of Eldorado.
I didn’t watch this when it went out, and the video doesn’t show whether she got through. Oh, the suspense…(!)
