Family Guy and American Dad move to ITV2 this Autumn

Family Guy and American Dad are two great shows that Seth McFarlane does very well. Certainly a lot better than his films, Ted and A Million Ways To Die In The West, both of which were terrible. And I’m not a big fan of The Cleveland Show, either.

Anyhoo, as you may know, the BBC are putting the final nail in the BBC3 coffin this autumn, so where to go for that regular terrestrial fix of, at least, the two great shows? (The Cleveland Show has been airing on E4). Well, ITV have bought the rights to show them on ITV2. Yes, if you have pay channels, then FX will bring you the episodes more quickly, but hey ho…

The deal will also bring Seth’s new show Bordertown to ITV2. The show is centered around two families living in a desert town on the US/Mexico border, starring the voices of Hank Azaria (The Simpsons‘ Mr Burns, and many more), plus Family Guy‘s Alex Borstein and 30 Rock‘s Judah Friedlander. Viewers in the US will get this series starring in the spring of this year.

ITV head honcho Peter Fincham released this press statement: “Seth MacFarlane’s shows have firmly established him as the comedy voice of choice for an entire generation. Seth is sharp, hugely irreverent and brilliantly funny which is reflected in his fantastic shows. We are delighted to be welcoming him and his comic creations to ITV.”

Twentieth Century Fox’s Marion Edwards also said: “Family Guy is one of our most important, iconic series and we are very excited about this new collaboration. We are confident that this extraordinary series will not only bring its loyal fanbase to ITV, but will also be embraced by an entirely new set of fans.”
