The programme is presented in the original broadcast ratio of approximately 2.20:1 widescreen ratio, the same as another of the broadcaster’s big and deserved hits, Borgen. The Danish landscapes are stunning in 1080p widescreen and there are zero faults with the picture.
The sound is in DTS 5.1, and it’s a TV drama with nothing in the way of split-surround effects apart from occasional moments in the score, but you weren’t expecting a special effects movie. You wanted a densely plotted drama and that’s what you get.
Sadly, there are no extras, but that’s generally the case with all TV series getting a home release.
Subtitles are in English, but this is another series where occasional English language isn’t subtitled, although there was clearly some English spoken in one episode that was, even if it was just Sander’s housekeeper asking him if he wanted some coffee, him saying yes, and then asking her to answer the door while he ate breakfast. Chapters are thin on the ground with just 6 per episode, and the menu features a similar image to the packshot, with albeit with snow blowing about, and a short, repetitive section of non-descript incidental music that Shazam can’t pick up and I don’t recall from the programme.
A few comments about how it ended, though, and I’ll cover this with a spoiler heading, so I advise you not to read this if you haven’t seen the whole series:
Follow The Money Season 1 is released tomorrow on Blu-ray and DVD from Nordic Noir & Beyond. Also, click on the packshot for the full-size image.
