Ghostbusters is one of my all-time favourite films and 2014 sees the 30th Anniversary of the classic comedy, one which still gets censored to bits when it’s shown on TV, generally for the dickless/Twinkie scene.
(“Yes, this man has no Twinkie”)
Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd and the late, great Harold Ramis star as three odd-ball scientists who get kicked out of their cushy positions at a university in New York City where they studied the occult. They decide to set up shop in an old firehouse and become Ghostbusters, trapping pesky ghosts, spirits, haunts, and poltergeists for money. They wise-crack their way through the city, and stumble upon a gateway to another dimension, one which will release untold evil upon the city. The Ghostbusters are called on to save the Big Apple.
Ghostbusters also stars Sigourney Weaver, Annie Potts, William Atherton, Ernie Hudson, Jennifer Runyon and Rick Moranis, and is getting a re-release in US cinemas for one-week only, prior to a Blu-ray double pack release. Let’s hope we get it in the UK, too.
