RIP Sean Bean … in Hitman 2 as Mark Faba (Elusive Target 1)

Hitman 2
Hitman 2‘s first Elusive Target, Mark Faba (Sean Bean) is still active if you haven’t yet caught him, but I did.

I didn’t think I could do it at first, but got to learn his routine and found the right moment. Took a while, but it was great to hear all the dialogue he’d recorded 🙂

Hitman 2 is less than a month away, and now, Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment and IO Interactive have unveiled their first Elusive Target: Sean Bean! And I love how this trailer mixed real footage with computer graphics, as you’ll see.

Personally, I wish these elusive targets were available to try and try again, as I usually cock them up, and sometimes, life take you out of the loop during the time while they’re active.

Yes, it feels a bit mean to kill Sean Bean, but he’s given us great performances and gritty BAFTAs for years, so maybe it’s his time…

Sean Bean is Mark Faba, a former MI5 agent turned freelance assassin. Notoriously known as “The Undying”, Faba’s reputation as a master of faking his own death is second to none, ultimately causing the International Contract Agency (ICA) to put an imposing bounty on his head.

Sean Bean said: “I’m thrilled to be a part of the upcoming Hitman 2 video game. It’s always exciting to take on a new role, and I look forward to seeing my character in action when the Elusive Target mission launches.”

Hakan Abrak, Studio Head, IO Interactive said: “We are very proud to partner with the talented Sean Bean on the first Elusive Target mission in Hitman 2. Targets have become a distinguishing trait in Hitman games as part of the constant stream of free live content for all players to enjoy. This new mission starring Sean Bean is one of many updates, features, modes and franchise firsts coming to Hitman 2, making the next chapter in our ever-expanding world of assassination a richer game for our passionate community and newcomers to the series.”

The interactive trailer, below, asks viewers to vote on three different items referenced in the trailer to unlock an exclusive Hitman 2 weapon later in the game, and you can do so at Elusive-Target.Htman.com.

Which will you choose? I went for the robot!

Also below is the recently announced Ghost Mode, a unique and brand-new take on 1-versus-1 online competition, putting players’ assassination skills to the ultimate test.

Agent 47 is the world’s deadliest assassin, and the only person who can match him in skill, stealth and execution is… himself. Therefore, Ghost Mode allows two players to compete against each other online, both as Agent 47, to assassinate the most targets in a match. At the start of each round, both players begin side-by-side and must race to take out the same targets faster and cleaner than their opponent, while utilizing weapons, items, outfits and ghost crate supply drops along the way to help accomplish the overall mission.

The unique twist with Ghost Mode in Hitman 2 is that players will simultaneously hunt targets while in the same location and can see a “ghost” version of their rival gamer to track progress against their own, but they exist in separate realities unaffected by the actions of their adversary. In Ghost Mode, the player who can outsmart, outplay and outkill their opponent by eliminating five targets first, will declare victory.

Hitman 2 is released on November 13th, and you can also pre-order the Collector’s Edition Suitcase on PS4, Xbox One and PC.

Hitman 2 is just over three months away, and today, Warner Bros Interactive have announced a new Sniper Assassin Competition!

It’s an all-new challenge for fans to put their marksman skills to the ultimate test with top scoring Agents across PS4 Xbox One and Steam, each eligible to win the grand prize of getting their name and likeness added to the game in future Hitman 2 content.

Starting today, players can participate by pre-ordering the game and downloading the new standalone Sniper Assassin mode, which is a free early access bonus that is available to play now. Participants can then officially enter the contest by registering for an IOI account and playing Sniper Assassin in “solo” mode as Agent 47.

Throughout the competition period, entrants can scope out high scores via in-game leader boards to track personal improvement or to see where they stand amongst other agents. Three top scorers, one for each respective gaming platform, will then be determined once the competition concludes on November 6th.

For me, the Hitman games tower over the movies, but if you missed Hitman: Agent 47, then it’s on Channel 4 this Saturday at 9pm.

Hitman 2 is just under five months away, and if you’ve pre-ordered, you’ll know of the Sniper Assassin mode in the new game, and will have had a chance to check it out.

We had a look at it yesterday, and it’s pretty easy, but great fun, and this video, below, was the third time I attempted it. Once you kill the three main baddies, you just have to cap as many bodyguards as you can!

That said, I say it’s easy – it’s easy to kill those 3 once you know where they are, but to master the mode and kill EVERY bodyguard? NOT so easy 😉

Hitman 2 – shoots out on November 13th – Pics and Announcement Trailer

Hitman 2 is coming soon-ish, and it’s a sequel I’m really looking forward to playing, as well as hearing of its existence, since it seemed the end was nigh after IO Interactive went their separate ways from Square Enix. However, not only have Warner Bros Interactive stepped into fill that gap, but also, the game will all be released in one go! Yes, none of that episodic series malarkey which annoyed everyone! Maybe that was Square Enix forcing IO’s hand, but I didn’t know a single person who had a good thing to say about it.

Featuring entirely new hyper-detailed sandboxes full of living, breathing environments to explore, Hitman 2 offers players the freedom to plan the ultimate assassination utilising an assortment of tools, weapons, disguises and a variety of stealth techniques to creatively trigger their own unique chain of events.

David Haddad, President, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment said: “We are thrilled to partner with IO Interactive on Hitman 2 and bring the latest game in this iconic franchise to the passionate Hitman’s fanbase and new players. IO Interactive has done a fantastic job with the Hitman franchise, and this new game will provide a distinct gameplay experience for players to be creative in larger sandbox locations.”

Hakan Abrak, CEO, IO Interactive added: “We are very proud to announce Hitman 2 as the next exciting chapter in our ever-expanding world of assassination. Building on the success of our previous game, Hitman 2 introduces exciting new features, new modes and franchise firsts to make for a larger and richer game. We couldn’t have wished for a better partner than Warner Bros. to bring this game to our passionate community and introduce new players to our universe. Welcome back 47!”

Hitman 2 takes players on a global adventure across a mix of bustling international locations, including a vibrant Miami setting with the colorful ambience of an in-progress motorsport race bringing a new backdrop to the series. From sun-drenched streets to dark and dangerous rainforests, each intricate location provides multiple paths to discover and unparalleled game depth.

Continuing the ultimate spy thriller story, the game allows players to take on the role of the masterful Agent 47 and embark on a mission to hunt the elusive Shadow Client and unravel his militia once and for all. However, when 47 learns the hidden truth about his past, nothing will ever be the same.

Hitman 2 introduces new ways to play with the Sniper Assassin mode, a standalone feature that brings a co-op experience to the Hitman series for the first time, allowing two players to work together online to take down their targets. Sniper Assassin can also be enjoyed in a single player mode for those who want to play as Agent 47.

Sniper Assassin is available to play now as an early access bonus for consumers who pre-order the Hitman 2 Standard, Gold or Collector’s Edition.
