Jungle Cruise is Disney’s bet for a summer 2020 blockbuster, set during the early 20th century, in which riverboat captain Frank (Dwayne Johnson) takes a scientist and her brother on a mission into a jungle to find the Tree of Life which is believed to possess healing powers. All the while, the trio must fight against dangerous wild animals and a competing German expedition.
The movie is based on Disneyland’s theme park ride, so similar to the Pirates of the Caribbean movies, then.
I know this will be a big hit for families, but for me, it’s an OTT CGI-fest. So, I’ll pass.
Disney’s Jungle Cruise is released in the UK on July 24th 2020.
