My BRUTALLY HONEST REVIEW of MOTHER MARY!

Mother Mary Mother Mary is a perfect example of: Suddenly nothing happened…

Anne Hathaway (Mothers’ Instinct) plays the flashy, titular, Madonna-type pop-star on-stage – given the type of shows she puts on – but needs a new dress for her next show. However, it’s one that only iconic designer Sam Anselm (Michaela CoelI May Destroy You) can make.

Just a few snags: Mary needs it in 3 days, and after her last tour, she took a long break and cut everyone off without a second thought, burning her bridges, so to speak. Hence, why should Sam give her the time of day?

Mary also took time off from work after suffering a severe hand injury during an after-show seance, which seemed like a fun idea at the time of starting it, but it’s all fun and games until something goes wrong…

Still, when asked, “Tell me your feelnigs and I’ll put them into a dress”, she explains that she doesn’t want a red one; and also has a new song, yet Sam doesn’t want to hear it, in order to ensure she makes the dress for Mary, NOT the song.

However, as it goes on, Ms Hathaway looks like she’s going to cry any minute, while Ms Coel does her usual thing of acting weird towards her co-star, and bulges her eyes out.

Overall, we end up with two hours that’s staggeringly dull. How do you MAKE such a film, and stay awake while DOING so? What a pile of arty-farty shit!

There’s no mid- nor post-credit scenes as such, but as the credits run, there’s a music performance, and later, some pictures of the dress being designed, as well as Sam’s studio. Nothing to write home about.

Mother Mary is in cinemas now, but isn’t yet available to pre-order on Blu-ray or DVD. However, once announced, it will appear on the New DVD Blu-ray 3D and 4K releases UK list.
