Mr Bigstuff – The DVDfever Review – Sky – Danny Dyer

Mr Bigstuff Mr Bigstuff stars Danny Dyer (Heat) as… Danny Dyer, but if you’d see the trailer, then you basically know that already.

But let’s back up a bit, as Glen’s (Ryan SampsonBrassic) fiancee, Kirsty (Harriet WebbBig Boys), tries to… excite him round the back of Halfords, but he’s not quite feeling it…

He’s trying to sell carpets, when his estranged brother, Lee (Dyer) comes in, asking a colleague if she’s seen him… while providng a picture of Glen when he was a young boy(!)

At first, Mr Bigstuff seemed better than I expected from the awful trailer, but then it settled down as actually getting a bit ridiculous, since the pair soon end up shouting at each other and trying to beat one another up.

Overall, after watching two of the six, very sweary episodes, this feels more like a random set of disjointed scenes, rather than any sort of a coherent plot; and when Kirsty said in a bemused fashion during the opener, “What the fuck?!”, I felt the same way.

Thanks to our friends at Sky for the screener prior to release.

Mr Bigstuff is not available to pre-order on Blu-ray or DVD, but is on Sky Max from Wednesday July 17th at 10pm, but all episodes are available from day 1.
