A brief analysis on the current chart situation…
16 new entries this week, 1 climber (Aaron Carter (!) from 31 to 26), 0 non-movers and 23 going down.
Big fallers include DJ Quicksilver (from 12 to 25), Air (from 13 to 28), Lilys (from 16 to 32 – not surprising considering their dismal performance on Top of the Pops last week), Bluetones (from 10 to 34) and Shola Ama (from 17 to 35).

Top song which I’ve heard a number of times on the radio, but never givethe title away so it took a while before I realised who this was.
29 Dandy Warhols – Every Day Should Be A Holiday * !!!
I’ve only heard this the once, and that was on The Chart Show a couple ofweeks ago, but they’re an American band who have made a record which soundslike something straight out of the early 80s. Deserves to be a No.1
21 Martha Wash featuring RuPaul – It’s Raining Men…The Sequel :O ===
RuPaul makes another single. Wow, a transexual fluttering his homosexualpreferences in a song. Isn’t it hilarious?

12 Ocean Colour Scene – It’s a Beautiful Thing *
Slow, excellent tune with supporting vocals from P.P. Arnold. For a singlethough, it sounds like the sort of thing that’s a lot more suited to beingan album track.
10 Shania Twain – You’re Still The One
USA Country star finally breaks into the UK market with a ballad, which seemsto be the way all of them are marketed over here. My girlfriend’s a big countrymusic fan, but she’d be much happier if Garth Brooks was in the Top 10 🙂
5 Will Mellor – When I Need You :O ===
Another soap star (from Channel 4’s Hollyoaks) makes a record, this one beinga cover of the Leo Sayer tune. I preferred “Orchard Road”.
1 (NEW) Cornershop – Brimful of Asha * *1st Week at No.1*
Originally making No.60 last August, the song has now been given a remixwhich spices it up a bit and makes it well worth hearing, and is also used inthe current Caffrey’s advert (no, not the advert’s main tune at the end!)
Unfortunately the video still uses the original version which is quite boring.

9. SL2 – On A Ragga Tip ’97
People who know me know that I like only about 1% of dance music, but what Ido like, I *really* like, and this happens to be one of them.
However, I hated it at first on its release in summer 92, reaching No.2,but one day it just grew on me and I wished I’d got it then. The CD singlecontains 6 tracks, 5 of them remixes, and one being the original, and it madeNo.31 in February last year.
